Kodawari is the uncompromising and relentless pursuit of perfection. It is passion, persistence, commitment and attention to detail all on behalf of you, the client.
Our work is characterised by a strong use of geometry that lends an underlying structure to the garden. Planting is key and the use of plants with a naturalistic feel creates a soft contrast to the clean lines in our designs. By working closely with our clients, listening to their needs, ideas and aspirations we are able to produce bespoke garden design solutions, tailored to their individual requirements.
Our designs range from relaxed country gardens to bold urban spaces, each approached with a creative sensibility and passion for design and horticulture. Whether you have a large rural garden or a more intimate space, we have the specialist knowledge to make your garden the perfect extension to your home.
In the same way all great gardens need time to mature, we too need to establish and grow. Our designs are making their way from the drawing board to reality at this very moment and we invite you to be amongst the first to experience the passion and energy of our new venture.
Founder of Kodawari Garden Design, James Lees, is a professionally trained Garden Designer. He holds the appropriate insurances and is a pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers (SGD). Recognition by these organisations ensure that he maintains his professional status by keeping up to date with current legislation and working practices.
"During my design training I was enthralled by the 'mark-making'; the swirl of the graphite; the permanence of the drafting ink, and the way colour and shadow helped communicate my ideas.
I've proudly maintained hand-drawing as the foundation for the exploration and artistic stages of my design process - the weaving together of my clients wishes with the reality of the site constraints and its possibilities.“
James Lees, Kodawari Garden Design
Our gardens should be an extension of our homes, offering an inviting, if not compelling reason to get outdoors and enjoy the sensory array available to us. Of course, the 'ideal' garden space is an elusive concept as it is one of individual preference. So whether you are looking to create the perfect space for entertaining, a haven of calm to retreat to or a safe playscape for your children to develop, we can help guide your vision from inception to reality.
Our mission is to work with each client on an individual basis, to unearth the essence of what the space should look like and its primary functions. We will use this information to deliver a plan that brings joy year upon year. From the first call to the final plan, we will nurture the project to realise its full potential. We look forward to working with you to bring to life a space that will compliment every aspect of your life for years to come.
